“Children are great imitators so give them something great to imitate!” – Unknown
Blessed Sacrament School is more than a mere physical facility. It is a congregation of many diverse people with one single purpose: to advance the academic and religious education of our children. It is a school that prides itself on its parental, family and community involvement, and offers a number of school programs, activities, events and other opportunities to serve that purpose.
We have a variety of volunteer opportunities for our parents and grandparents each year, made available through our Willingness to Serve form. Please contact Volunteer Chair Kelly Henderson for more information about your volunteer placement for the 2021-2022 school year.
All families are asked to submit a 2021-2022 Willingness to Serve.Updated 5-17-21, and all volunteers must complete a background check, attend VIRTUS training, and sign the Diocesan Code of Conduct for Those Working with Minors.
What is VIRTUS?
VIRTUS training outlines appropriate behavior when dealing with children, and is for the protection of both the adult volunteer and our students. VIRTUS training is required for all parents who wish to volunteer at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School. Examples of volunteering include: serving as a room parent; working a concession stand; assisting with a sport or club; chaperoning a field trip or dance; and working at school events. If you plan to volunteer at BSS, you are required to attend a VIRTUS training session.
