Meet the New Faces at BSS!

Mary Wright, 3rd Grade

Mrs. Wright has 9 years teaching experience and comes to us from St. James.  She is an alumni of BSS (as is her mother, Mrs. Willoughby), and has her Bachelor of Science in Education from Georgia Southern University.   Mrs. Wright believes: “…by doing what you love, you inspire and awaken the hearts of others.”   

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jennifer Nowell, 5th Grade

Ms. Nowell has 15 years of teaching experience and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Development from Armstrong State University.  Ms. Nowell comes to us from Calvary Day School, and she believes “teaching is a calling from God.  I believe in challenging students to be excellent in everything they do.  I also believe that once you show students you love them, they will strive to be and do whatever you require of them.”

 

 

 

 

 

Sherri Rachael, 5th Grade

Mrs. Rachael also comes to us from Calvary Day School and has 15+ years of teaching experience.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  Mrs. Rachel wants you to know that she believes “Every child deserves a champion–an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists they become the best they can possibly be.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jacqueline Scanlan, 7th Grade Homeroom (Middle School Math)

Ms. Scanlan has a long history in Catholic education.  She has 16 years of teaching experience and comes to us from St. Peter the Apostle, Wilmington Island.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education and Psychology from Northern Illinois University.  Her favorite quote is:  “A bad attitude is like a flat tire; you can’t go anywhere unless you change it!”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Krystal Gill, 8th Grade Homeroom (Middle School English/Lit)

Ms. Gill has been teaching for 10 years.  She has a history in faith based education having taught at Savannah Christian as well as St. Francis Cabrini here in Savannah.   She received her Masters in teaching with a focus on middle grades History and Science from Armstrong State University.   She believes that “you are never fully dressed without a smile,” and her favorite quote is:  “You are braver than you think, more talented than you know, and capable of more than you imagine.” – Roy T. Rachel Brungardt, Music

Mrs. Brungardt is the Music Director at our Parish, Blessed Sacrament Church.   She has 22 years music experience and 3 1/2 years experience in Religious Education.   She received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Wichita State University in 2011.   Her favorite quote/scripture is:  “Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.”  Matthew 10:8b
